If I could give this zero star, I would. I called prior to coming in and spoke to Arman (not sure how you spell his name). I told him my year and make of the car over the phone and told him my check engine light was on. He said I can bring the car in and they would check it out. When I arrive, I politely said, "Hi" but I was greeted with an attitude and a frown from Arman. I told him I had an appointment today because my check engine light was on. He said with an attitude to take it to the dealership because it was still under warranty. I explained I didn't want to go to the dealership due to the unprofessionalism. He rudely stated "I'm a mom and pop shop, go to dealership" After I was feed up with his bad attitude, I left. He was rude I wouldn't recommend this shop at all to anyone. I went to another shop in Van Nuys and was able to get my car service. Arman's attitude is disgusting!
Shana. We take these words and reviews very seriously and have already reached out to our team to find out what occurred. I am not sure why an “attitude” was present during the conversation; it will be looked into internally and apologize if there was. You have a Fidelty warranty policy in place. You came to us, being that we are an accrdited CarMax (Fidelty) repair facility. Your car ALSO has a manufacturer warranty in place that SUPERCEDES your policy with CarMax (Fidelty). CarMax (Fidelity) will NOT pay for repairs if they can be repaired at no cost by the manufacturer's warranty. When you arrived, you had a scan report of the error codes of your car provided to you by a local Pep Boys service center, showing your car having an oxygen sensor issue. In your presence, a phone call was placed to CarMax (Fidelty). They DECLINED coverage and instructed us to defer you to the dealer because the repairs can be done under the manufacturer's warranty. Armen is specifically instructed not to charge a customer for a repair if it can be done free of charge at the dealership because of warranty or recall. We are an accredited CarMax repair facility. We don't want to lose this accreditation. More importantly customers' best interests are a top priority at Funk Bros. Auto.
