I wrote this last year and about to go back for oil and saw I hadn't posted: I found them on based on Yelp, and their insane positive ratings are not to be denied and almost unheard of: either 5/5 or the very few 1/5- all of which with spelling and grammar errors and answered by the shop. My personal experience with my Mercedes, was top notch, 100% honest, no upcharges, even recommended what's to say to dealer to get other things covered. 100% polite, professional and knowledgeable and go the extra mile in that. And my baby SLK is running great, and dealer would have been soo much more with less service. After a thorough check up, and they left the things that the dealer would cover, even calling to be sure. iNTEGRiTY, HONOR, PROFESSIONALISM, COURTESY. KNOWLEDGE. No frills, a true urban shop... and the most honest professional and courteous repair shop I have ever been to...from NYC to Miami, driving all over and around LA with a friend who delivers specialty parts to shops all over the city, and all over, Funk Brothers is hands down the best shop I have been to for what they do anywhere, and they will tell you if it's something they can't get parts efficiently, advise on what is needed now and not and how to navigate dealer, just unheard of over the top care for customer, even at their expense. After they were done, I was concerned about a noise from before that had not gone away and if anything else needed to be fixed. They had already spent a large amount of time looking it over, and they took it for another drive...it was the A/C fan operating normally (I usually have the radio on loud enough to not hear it), they explained ever patiently that it was the A/C fan operating normally. Just shows their dedication. I've never been to a shop this professional. This is also an LGBT+ friendly business as a trans woman. And over the year I've stopped in with a question or two and some air here and there and always friendly. It feels like being part of the neighborhood. They will have my business ongoing, I will update review after my tune up!

Went there a few times as my brakes squeaked a lot. Both times, the guys there were like "I'll do it, but you don't have to". They were not pushy, they genuinely were against BS and were flat out honest. I mean, we all know car shops suck in average. These guys are straight shooters. Can only appreciate and recommend.

The team at funk brothers auto are the best I have experienced. They are honest, detailed and care. They explain every detail. Showed me all my old parts and went the extra mile to make sure I was happy and safe. I have tried multiple shops kin n Hollywood and never felt as confident as with my experience with funk brothers. I took my car in because of all the positive yelp reviews and also read all of the response funk brothers auto has made the negative reviews and its obvious they care and the issues are because of customers misunderstanding. I have now takin my car to Funk Brothers a total of 5 visits. From oil changes tires brakes to oil leaks and check engine light diagnosis. They are thorough professional and very honest. You won't be disappointed.

Great mechanics, great service, great place to take your car! My car broke down. I had AAA tow me to Funk Bros on a friend's referral. The next morning they called with what needed to be done and price quote and asked permission to proceed. I gave the green light and was on the road the next day! Highly recommend.

I've taken my car here about 3 times. They replaced an ignition coil in my car earlier this year. One of the cylinders was misfiring. Yesterday my car started to shake while driving & I pulled over and had the car towed to a mechanic shop. I got a call just now from the mechanic basically saying that the coil that was replaced was a cheap, crappy one and that's why the cylinder is misfiring. Now I have to pay the SAME amount I paid earlier this year for the SAME PROBLEM that should have been fixed PROPERLY. Also, took my car to Funk Bros and told them that the tire pressure light keeps coming on. They "fixed" it & when I drove off the light came on. They said "keep driving and it'll turn off". Nope. 2 months later, still happening. They also do not wear face masks or gloves during a global pandemic. DO NOT COME HERE. You'll end up paying again for the repairs that should have been handled from the start.

Wow, Hovig and his team here are the definition of honest mechanics. Took my Toyota 4x4 to Funk Brothers today for a brake problem, and they could have not been more straightforward about what was really the problem, and whether I should get it done right now. My brakes were ok (for now) but my shocks needed to be replaced, a more expensive proposition. I decided to wait until after the holidays, but I will definitely bring the car back. Hovig may have earned my business for life, they were just that honorable and nice about the whole process. They also take online reservations and are much easier to deal with than a lot of independent mechanics, in my experience. Super impressed.
